Are you an advanced user of Excel with experience in bookkeeping, bank reconciliation and payroll?

We are currently aiding a highly regarded, Letchworth based not for profit company in their recruitment of an Accounts Technician.

As the Accounts Technician, you will be part of a small finance team responsible for administering and maintaining the company’s rent ledger, payroll and banking systems and ensuring the integrity of financial information provided.

The ideal candidate will be an advanced user of Excel, capable of performing VLOOKUP’s and pivot tables as well as being experienced in bookkeeping, bank reconciliation and payroll.

This role is being offered on a permanent, full time basis on a Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.00pm working week.

The salary for this position is flexible dependant on the level of experience, however the upper most banding for this role will be £33,250 increasing to £35,000 after successful completion of probationary period.

The job...

The main duties included within your role of Accounts Technician are as follows: 

  • Undertake responsibility for the day to day administration and accuracy of the company’s Rent Ledger.
  • Ensure that all income is posted accurately and in accordance with deadlines.
  • Calculate and administer annual rent adjustments.
  • Process and administer all aspects of the monthly payroll, including pensions and auto enrolment.
  • Responsible for the administration of the holiday, sickness and flexible working systems.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of all the bank accounts and update cashflow forecast.
  • Calculate and submit quarterly VAT returns.
  • Ensure arrangements are made for the safeguarding and recording of the petty cash.
  • Keep the relevant sections of the Financial Procedures Manual reviewed and updated.
  • Undertake the financial administration and accounts preparation.
  • To work to the Association’s Vision, Mission and Values in all working practices.
  • To ensure that within the scope of this role, that the Value for Money Strategy is observed.
  • To carry out additional responsibilities reasonably associated with the post title and post holder’s capabilities, as and when required by the Association.

The experience required…

  • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel capable of performing VLOOKUP’s, Pivot Tables and Extracting Data
